Stetson TSSESTB612481 Stratoliner Hemp Fedora Hat Natural
Stetson TSSESTB612481 Stratoliner Hemp Fedora Hat Natural - An icon of the Stetson brand since 1940, the Stratoliner fedora takes its inspiration—and its name—from an aircraft that helped kickstart the golden age of innovation. The same year, Boeing introduced the first-ever commercial airplane with a pressurized cabin. Called the Stratoliner, it was able to reach new altitudes, opening the skies to a whole new breed of traveler. This called for a new breed of hat: The Stetson Stratoliner, a sleek, lighter-weight take on the traditional fedora that featured a rakish, angled crown that suggested a man—or a plane—on the move.
The hat would go on to become a go-to for the Rat Packers and Mad Men of the jet set era, and today, it lends classic style to any occasion, with its versatile, streamlined profile and a brim that can look casual and cool when snapped up, or snapped down for a dressed-up and dapper look.
Handwoven from quality hemp straw and richly dyed in versatile shades, the Stratoliner Hemp Fedora features a 4 ½" teardrop crown and 2 ½" bound edge brim. Its classic warm-weather style is underscored by a subtle grosgrain hatband and special edition airplane hat pin, while a genuine leather sweatband provides ssecure, comfortable, all-day fit

In 1865, with $100, John B. Stetson rented a small room, bought the tools he needed, bought $10 worth of fur and the John B. Stetson Hat Company was born. A year later the "Hat of the West" or the now famous "Boss of the Plains" hat was born and the name Stetson was on its way to becoming the mark of quality, durability, innovation and beauty.
Today the Stetson hat factory in Garland, Texas is one of the largest in the country and produces a line of hats in hundreds of different styles and colors. In spite of this size, however, classic styling and premium quality remain as the driving forces behind each and every hat. As a result, Stetson hats are the most well known hats in the world. Wherever and whenever hats are discussed Stetson will be mentioned.
Stetson is the standard in hats, the essence of the spirit of the West and an icon of everyday American lifestyle. Because of its authentic American heritage, Stetson remains as a part of history and, for the same reason will continue into the future.
The John B. Stetson Company, founded by John B. Stetson in 1865, was the maker of the Stetson cowboy hats, but ceased manufacturing in 1970. Stetson hats are now being manufactured in Garland, Texas, by Hatco, Inc., who also produce Resistol and Charlie 1 Horse hats.
Stetson resumed manufacturing in the 1980s, but the company went bankrupt in 1986. It was purchased by Hat Brands, a company owned by Irving Joel.
Since 2009, Stetson has been owned by Pro Equine Group.
