Veteran's Day is approaching and with all these Holiday's some people just get excited over the fact they have the day off of school and or work. This holiday in particular is more than just a day off. It is a day to take a moment to thank all the Veteran's living or dead. We're here to share some facts about this holiday coming up on Sunday, November 11, 2018.
- Veteran's Day occurs every year on November 11
- The original name was Armistice Day which was changed to Veteran's Day in 1954 by president Dwight D. Eisenhower.
- It originated on November 11, 1919 which was the first anniversary of the end of World War 1.
- In 1926 Congress passed a resolution for annual observance and it became a national holiday in 1938.
With all the history of this day the most important part is that it is a day to honor American veterans for their patriotism, love of country and service.
